GlobalExpressTime is an independent digital newsroom covering world affairs, business, technology, health, sport, and politics. Our job is to give readers a fast and reliable account of the day's most important events alongside the context they need to understand why those events matter.
Our reporters are based across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia. They work across time zones so that a story breaking anywhere in the world can be verified, written, and published while it is still developing without cutting corners on accuracy.
We launched because too many news sites had stopped explaining the news. From the start, our commitment has been simple: give readers the full picture, with sourced reporting, named correspondents, and a clear distinction between what is confirmed and what is still developing.
Who leads the newsroom
GlobalExpressTime is headquartered in London and was founded in 2026. The newsroom is led by editors with careers spanning print, wire, and digital journalism across multiple countries.
Thomas Edgware
Editor-in-Chief
Thomas founded GlobalExpressTime in 2026 following eighteen years in national and international journalism. His career included senior editing roles on the politics and foreign affairs desks of national print publications, and several years running a European bureau for an international news agency covering economics and geopolitics. He is responsible for the overall editorial direction of the newsroom, final decisions on significant stories, and the standards that govern every piece of journalism GlobalExpressTime publishes.
Rachel Osei
Managing Editor
Rachel oversees the daily operation of the newsroom, managing section editors and coordinating coverage across time zones. Before GlobalExpressTime, she spent six years as a senior editor at a digital-first international news organisation, leading a reporting team whose coverage of sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia won recognition from the Foreign Press Association. Rachel holds a master's degree in International Journalism from City, University of London.
James Farrell
Head of News
James leads the news desk and is responsible for all breaking news coverage and the deployment of reporters to developing stories. He spent eleven years at an international news agency, where he worked as a reporter and then senior editor across the London, Brussels, and Washington bureaus. James joined GlobalExpressTime at launch and brings the verification discipline and deadline culture of wire journalism to everything the news desk produces.
Priya Nair
Deputy Editor, Digital
Priya is responsible for how GlobalExpressTime's journalism reaches and serves its readers digitally, including standards for article structure, headlines, and search discoverability. She began her career in print journalism in Mumbai before moving into digital editorial roles in Singapore and London. Priya has spent the past eight years working at the intersection of editorial standards and digital publishing, and she ensures that quality is consistent across every format in which our journalism appears.
