Depends entirely on where you're shopping from. That's the short answer, and it's a slightly annoying one if you were hoping for a single date to circle on your calendar.

Amazon broke from its usual playbook this year. Prime Day has mostly landed in July since 2015, with two notable exceptions, a one-off October event in 2020 and a June event in 2021. In 2026, most markets got pulled forward into June again, but not everyone. Several major markets are still running on their own July timelines, some with their exact dates only confirmed in the past couple of weeks.

If you're trying to figure out whether Prime Day 2026 is live right now in your country, here's everything confirmed so far, pulled straight from Amazon's own announcements.

The Big Shift: Why June Instead of July

Amazon's official announcement confirms Prime Day 2026 runs June 23–26, with deals dropping across more than 35 categories for Prime members. Including every market on its own separate July schedule, the event now spans 27 countries in total, though far from all of them share the same dates.

This is the earliest the main event has landed since 2021, and the four-day format, first introduced last year, is sticking around. Last year's US event ran from July 8, so this year's June 23 start lands roughly two weeks earlier on the calendar, not the three weeks some early reports suggested.

Amazon hasn't publicly spelled out its reasoning for the shift. It's worth noting the move doesn't fully sidestep a crowded summer, either. The 2026 FIFA World Cup runs from June 11 all the way through July 19, so the June 23–26 window actually overlaps with the tournament's group stage and knockout rounds rather than avoiding it. Whatever the internal thinking, what's confirmed is the dates themselves.

Countries Running Prime Day June 23–26

If you shop from one of these markets, the event is either live right now or about to be, kicking off at 12:01 a.m. PDT on June 23 (or 12:01 a.m. CET for European shoppers, per Amazon's EU announcement).

According to About Amazon's official country list, Prime Day 2026 will take place in June in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States.

That's 21 markets on the exact June 23–26, four-day window. Two more June markets are easy to lump in with this group, but they're actually running longer, slightly offset sales of their own: Saudi Arabia's event runs June 24–30, and South Africa, marking its first-ever Prime Day after Prime's recent local launch, runs June 23–29. Both are seven-day windows rather than the standard four.

The Markets Running Their Own July Schedule

This is where it gets specific, and where most generic "Prime Day dates" roundups stop short. Brazil, India, Australia, and Japan each have their own separate July timeline, and as of this week, all four now have confirmed dates.

Brazil kicks the July run off first. Its event opens at midnight on July 1 and runs a full seven days through July 7, Amazon's seventh edition of Prime Day in the country since it debuted there in 2020.

India's dates are locked in and notable for another reason: it's a milestone year. About Amazon India confirms the 10th edition of Prime Day runs from July 4-6, with 72 hours of deals, 500+ new launches and blockbuster entertainment for Prime members. That three-day window is actually in line with last year's event, which also ran three days, from July 12 to 14, so 2026 isn't shorter, just earlier.

Australia, meanwhile, keeps stretching its event out. TechRadar's coverage confirms Prime Day 2026 in Australia will kick off at 12am AEST on Tuesday, July 7 and run for seven days, ending at 11:59pm AEST on Monday, July 13. Australian shoppers have effectively been getting "Prime Week" rather than "Prime Day" for several years now, and 2026 keeps that pattern going.

Japan rounds out the list, and its dates have just been confirmed: About Amazon Japan says this year's Prime Day runs July 10 (Friday) through July 13 (Monday), with an early sale starting July 7. Stack the early sale onto the main event and Japanese shoppers get a full week of deals too, matching the pattern in Brazil and Australia. Last year, Japan's main event ran July 11–14, preceded by an early sale that opened July 8, so the 2026 dates land just a day earlier across the board.

Why the Split Schedule in the First Place?

It looks messy on paper, and Amazon hasn't laid out a single public explanation for why some markets sit in June and others in July. But there's a reasonable commercial read on it.

Australia just wrapped its End of Financial Year sales, one of the country's biggest annual shopping moments, so pushing Prime Day to July avoids cannibalizing that. Brazil's July window lines up with its winter season, a period Amazon's own coverage there ties to seasonal categories like appliances and home goods. India's dates have actually moved around more than people assume, the event ran July 15–16 in 2023, July 20–21 in 2024, and July 12–14 in 2025, so "early July" this year fits a generally July-based pattern rather than a fixed week. Japan has run its event in July every year since 2022, give or take, aside from the one-off June exception in 2021. None of this is officially confirmed by Amazon as the reasoning, but it's the clearest pattern across markets that have stuck to July long after other regions moved.

What This Means If You're Shopping Right Now

If you're in the US, UK, Canada, or most of Europe: the deals are live. Don't wait. Amazon's Prime Day hub is updating constantly, with the company noting new deals drop as often as every five minutes during select periods throughout the event.

If you're in Saudi Arabia or South Africa: your window is longer and shifted slightly from the core June 23–26 dates, so don't assume the event ends when it does for US or UK shoppers.

If you're in Brazil: mark July 1 at midnight, you've got a full week.

If you're in India: mark July 4 at midnight. Three days, then it's over.

If you're in Australia or Japan: you're looking at the longest runways this year. Australia runs a clean seven days from July 7. Japan's early sale opens July 7 too, rolling straight into the main event from July 10 through July 13.

The split calendar is a little inconvenient if you've got family or friends shopping from a different country than you.
