Aston Villa have reached a verbal agreement to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder João Gomes in a reported package worth up to £38 million. The 25-year-old departed Wolves' pre-season training camp in Portugal on 16 July 2026 to fly back to England and complete a medical.
