Beauty in Black Season 3 Hits Netflix on August 27
Beauty in Black Season 3 premieres August 27, 2026, on Netflix, all eight episodes drop at once, and Season 4 is already confirmed.

Tyler Perry's Beauty in Black returns to Netflix on Thursday, August 27, 2026, with all eight Season 3 episodes dropping simultaneously, and for the first time in the show's two-year run, there is no split, no Part 1 wait, and no series finale looming over it.
Netflix confirmed the date on July 28 alongside a set of first-look images. The announcement landed less than a week after the streamer had already reversed course on the show's planned ending and renewed Beauty in Black for a fourth season.
From Cancelled to Two More Seasons in One Month
In December 2025, Netflix had formally cancelled the show, labelling Season 3 the series finale. Then, on July 23, 2026, the streamer reversed that decision and confirmed Season 4 was in production. Five days later, it set the Season 3 premiere date.
That compressed timeline, cancellation, reversal, and a confirmed launch date in under eight months, is unusual for a scripted Netflix drama, and one of the fastest turnarounds the streamer has executed for a live-action series.
Tyler Perry, who created, wrote, directed, and executive-produced every episode of the show since its October 2024 debut, had told interviewers earlier this year that Season 3 might not arrive until 2027. The season arrived production-complete well ahead of that window.
What Season 3 Is Actually About
Netflix's official logline for the eight-episode season is direct: Kimmie now has a seat at the Bellarie table, but a deadly family feud forces her into an uneasy alliance with Mallory.
Taylor Polidore Williams has played Kimmie since the show's premiere as a woman navigating survival from the outside of the Bellarie power structure. Season 3 places her firmly inside it, the official logline describes a world of "blackmail, revenge, and buried secrets as the family wages war against one of its own, threatening to bring the entire empire crashing down."
Crystle Stewart returns as Mallory, now Kimmie's reluctant partner rather than her adversary. First-look images released by Netflix show Roy, Jules, and Horace, played by Julian Horton, Charles Malik Whitfield, and Ricco Ross, respectively, being escorted by FBI agents in handcuffs, placing the legal threat to the Bellarie family front and centre from episode one.
The core cast also includes Amber Reign Smith as Rain, Xavier Smalls as Angel, Steven G. Norfleet as Charles, Terrell Carter as Varney, Richard Lawson, Bryan Tanaka, and Debbi Morgan.
No Parts, No Waiting
One practical detail separates Season 3 from both previous seasons: all eight episodes arrive on the same day.
Seasons 1 and 2 were each released in two separate parts spread across gaps of five to six months, a format that generated repeated audience spikes but broke each season's momentum mid-run. Season 2 Part 1 dropped in September 2025, Part 2 followed in March 2026.
Season 3 abandons that structure entirely. Every episode goes live at once on August 27, which means a complete binge-watch is available from the first moment the season premieres.
Taylor Polidore Williams on the Speed of Season 3
Taylor Polidore Williams stated in an interview that filming on Season 3 had already been completed by March 2026, and that the production took just six days to shoot. The claim, attributed to Williams directly, aligns with Tyler Perry's well-documented approach of compressed, high-volume production schedules at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.
Netflix has not independently published a specific shooting timeline in its official materials.
Season 4 Already in Motion
Netflix's renewal announcement for Season 4, dated July 23, 2026, arrived before the Season 3 premiere date was even public. The stars made the Season 3 date announcement themselves, Williams and Stewart appeared in a video, reportedly filmed in the backseat of an SUV while on the Season 4 set, to tell fans the August 27 date was confirmed.
That sequence matters for how viewers should watch Season 3. It is no longer a series closer. The decisions Kimmie and Mallory make inside the Bellarie empire this season will carry consequences into a fourth season that is already filming.
As of this writing, Netflix has not announced a premiere date for Season 4.
Beauty in Black Season 3 premieres Thursday, August 27, 2026, on Netflix. All eight episodes will be available simultaneously at the standard Netflix release time of 3:00 a.m. ET / 12:00 a.m. PT.
